I was fortunate to have Hilda contact me for a portrait session on her and Alan's escape to the desert from Chicago! This travel loving couple was so much fun! So much laughter and love surround these two and it is seriously infectious.
I love when my couples trust me and my vision and let me capture what I see through my lens! Hilda and Alan's personality is so easy-going and flirtatious and that most definitely showed through in their portraits!

As sweet and as effortless family sessions appear to be in a curated feed on Instagram or even a blog post, we all know that is far from the truth. Family sessions are a lot of work for both the family and photographer! Having followed Savan of Savan Photography for quite some time, I reached out to her about a mentorship in photographing family portraits on film and boy, she did NOT disappoint.
Savan is the queen of emotion filled photography in all aspects of her work. The way she can tell a families story is enough to bring tears to your eyes! She is driven and passionate about her clients. I was so honored to have had the opportunity to learn from such a role model in this industry.
We both had the pleasure of photographing Moriah's sweeter than sweet family here in the Joshua Tree desert! I walked away from our time together with so much knowledge and a newfound love for creating art with my portraits. More than that, I walked away with a friend and lifelong mentor. For that, I am forever greatful!
It's always a pleasure to photograph other photographers, so I was thrilled when Katrina asked me to capture her third pregnancy in sunny San Diego, California! Katrina is not only a talented photographer but a stylist with a killer wardrobe! This stunning, yet simple, pink gown suited her so well.
Hamilton Oaks Winery in San Diego was so peaceful and complimented Katrina's glowing state perfectly!
I adore shooting maternity sessions. They are a season in life I hold near and dear to my heart as a mama myself. I know how important it is to document this fast season in our lives. Once our little ones are here, it's hard to remember what it was like having them in our bellies! I can't wait to meet little Ms. Penelope when she arrives soon!
There is something so serene about a simple beauty session in the California desert. A plain silk slip, robe and stunning dress from Katrina’s wardrobe complimented the feel of this intimate and ethereal shoot. The setting was simple and subtle which allowed the focus to remain on the ever so stunning, Olivia. Beauty portraits are so much more than being sexy and perfect. It’s more about celebrating the vulnerable woman willing to stand before you and creating imagery that tells their story. Olivia’s husband is currently serving our country overseas, and this session not only served as a gift to him but as a gift to herself. As women, we tend to the hustle of everyday life and forget the most important person in this life is ourselves. I encourage women to make the time to have photographs taken of them; embrace your flaws and differences. It serves as a way to remember who we were and how much we’ve grown and perhaps, together, we can set a new standard!
